Snowflakes and Lace: Running the Race while Lovely in Lace

I'm so excited to be a part of this series!! I've been having a lot of fun with lace lately and was thinking about making another lace dress, but this series deserves a look of it's own. So I started looking at pinterest for inspiration.
It was rather overwhelming seeing all the different ideas over there.
You can use it as an overlay, embellishments, appliques, etc.

After thinking and looking, I chose to make a little track suit. The weather here is still biting cold and I just happened to have a track suit in my upcycle pile that I had been holding onto. PERFECT!

I used LouBee Clothing's Bimaa's hoodie (BEST.PATTERN.EVER).
I just modified it to so I could keep the zipper.

I sewed lace down the two sides of the zipper and also lined the hood with lace.
I just wont mention how many times I kept unzipping the zipper to have it come flying off. To then have the realization that I could leave it off to sew the lace down and then reattach it before sewing the hood on!

For the pants, I used my most favorite Ottobre pattern, the Chillax pants from 1/2013 issue.

I changed up the pockets and just sewed the lace onto the pants.
Then added black cuffs at the bottom.

Makes for a very warm and snuggly Paisley.
