This month's challenge for Project Run & Play is Fabric Manipulation, and I have to say is my absolute favorite challenge of the year. I didn't get to do too much for it, but I really wanted to make a stencil and try that. I have a screen print and silhouette machine on my list to get. I love making my own one-of-a-kind fabric.
To make the stencil I bought some foam sheets from walmart. I used about 10 of them for this stencil. I drew Baymax, 'cause I adore him and I worked on cutting him out of about 6 layers of the foam sheets. Let me tell you, it works soooo much better if you have an exacto knife. I then proceeded to glue them all together along with 10 sheets for a backing. Next time I will layer the stencil with more sheets because my stencil didn't stick out far enough to avoid getting ink around my image when I pressed it down on the fabric.
I stenciled enough to get the front and back bodice from the fabric. Jude LOVES baymax just as much as I do, so I knew I could make this into a hoodie for him. I used the Rowan Tee from Titchy Threads. Yeah, I love this pattern!
The kids all asked for stencils on their hands, so that's the black ink on Judes.
