If you haven't noticed, I am preparing for summer. Well, okay, maybe BEGGING it to come back to us. I was not made for this 9 degree weather. I also get to knock another item off my #resewlution list by making this Blaverry Finn top!
If you haven't heard of Blaverry, you really should go check Christie's shop out. She has very clean and modern designs and the best part is the sizing! This is one of the few designers I have found that take the sizing to 16 years. With Aevarie in size 12 for most patterns, this is amazing for us!
The Finn top is a waterfall peplum shirt with the option of short, 3/4th, and long sleeves.
I made the size 7 width/12 length with short sleeves for my lanky beanpole. I obviously made some changes to mine. The most notable change was that I made it into a dress. It was a very easy change to do by just adding length to the peplum.
My girls are dress lovers and last summer they lived in them. Logically, dresses make figuring out their outfits a lot easier than separates, so I'm embracing it!
The other change I did was the neckband. The pattern calls for you to fold over and bind the neckband, but I went with a regular one.
The fabric is Limestone Feel Indigo knit from Art Gallery Fabrics that I bought from Phat Quarters (favorite shop ever).
This isn't our first pattern we've made from Blaverry. We made the Ansley Top for Zoe and I have quite a few of them in my stash. They were one designers patterns that is big on my #resewlution list and you will be seeing many more of Christie's patterns on here!
Now if the warm weather would just hurry up!
