The Denim Studio by AGF

Have you heard!?!? Art Gallery Fabrics has a new line of denim prints and solids and they're absolutely amazing. When I saw the preview, I knew I wanted to put together a tour. Sort of like a virtual runway for everyone to "ooh" and "ahh" over it all. I searched for some amazingly talented seamstresses to help Art Gallery strut that denim. We're all banding together to bring you something really great and to inspire you to create with your new Art Gallery Denim.

So here's our line-up for the tour:
This Blog Tour was sponsored by Art Gallery Fabric's.

When I first realized Art Gallery Fabric's was bringing in denim, I did a happy dance. I LOVE sewing with denim and you really can't find amazing prints very easily, so I knew this was going to be a match made in heaven.

It was very hard to narrow down what I wanted to make. They have so many choices and different weights to each kind of denim.
Here's the different weights for each one:
Printed Denim | 4.5 oz/sqm
Solid Texture Denim | 10 oz/sqm
Solid Smooth Denim | 4.5 oz/sqm
Lovey Dobby | 123 g/sqm
Premium Linen Blend | 220 g/sqm

You'll get to see more of these in action this tour.

In the end I chose the Stitched Ochi, one of their Denim Prints, for my look. It's very soft and flowy and the perfect weight for a dress. This print is also GORGEOUS. I've had the Mini Southport Dress since it came out and I knew it was the perfect pattern for this.

Besides, we're over winter, and throwing out our "we need summer!" items into the universe can't hurt, right??
I'm thinking a mother/daughter matching thing needs to happen with this.

  3. So beautiful!! This looks so light and drapes really well. How does it compare in weight to standard AG cotton?

  4. Karly, you did such a great job with this blog tour. I love the fabric you selected. Is the fabric a true denim twill weave? Or is it a basic woven with a denim texture look to it?
