I'm a bit of a nerd. Okay, a big one. So when I heard that Project Run & Play was having a Cosplay week (aka bounding) I was ecstatic! I say bounding, because Bounding is taking every day clothes that are inspired by a character to make an outfit. Where Cosplay is costumes. You are now slightly more enlightened to the geek world. You're welcome! ;)
One of my kids absolute favorite characters in this world are Minions. And since I'm DYING for summer to come, I thought I'd just start making the kids summer clothes and the universe will hopefully get the message.
We went with the typical minion. Denim and Yellow. Zoe could have pulled off the evil one, but little miss Paisley just can't.
I am so in love with these! I made them into short shorts, because again, I NEED summer to come. And I really, really, really need this pattern to be in my size. (hint hint Celina!)
I adore the scoop front and the crossed straps, well, and just all of it. You will need this pattern in your life this summer too. Did I mention that it will come with fun patches as well? You can join Celina's Facebook group for updates and tester calls.
For the top I used the Mini Briar by Meghan Nielsen in a yellow knit in lieu of painting this child's skin yellow. Although I'm sure she would have enjoyed that. I freezer stenciled Gru's emblem on the front of it to make it more minion-y.
I think it came together rather well!
We added a wacky hair-do and some glasses and viola! Minion Bounding!
