Suit Up For Summer Blog Tour Day 2

Today is day 2 of the Suit Up For Summer Blog Tour!
I'm showing off the Boo! Ultimate Swimsuit made in Maritime Swim knit from Raspberry Creek Fabrics.

I have been totally crushing this swimsuit since it came out in Issue 13 of One Thimble. I usually fully line my swimsuits, but this fabric is thick enough that it really doesn't need one, so I ended up just lining the very middle panel part of it.
Talking about linings, I personally feel you should ALWAYS add at least some kind of lining. Gussets totally work so you don't have to sew one in the whole suit, but if your fabric has a lot of white on it, line it all. Don't chance that.
A simple lining is usually all that's necessary, but for adults I also line my suits with powermesh. It holds lots of wiggly stuff in place and helps support the girls. I'll be talking more about that tomorrow!

My two favorite places to buy swim lining is Peek-a-boo Pattern Shop and The Fabric Fairy.
I usually buy my lining from Peek-a-boo because I'm totally smitten with her Pineapple swim and Ice Cream swim, and I always buy some lining whenever I buy swim from her.
The Fabric Fairy has a huge variety of color choices for lining and I'm for sure going to have to get some to make the inside of the swimsuits totally fun! I love their swim selection too and have made quite a few swimsuits out of their fabric. My favorites is from my STYLO swim shoot. I still adore those fruit inspired little suits!

The ultimate was a really easy pattern to sew up and took me no time to make.
The fabric is a matte type swim which makes it sooo much easier to sew with! I just love the Maritime line and love how the Sea Creatures and Stripes pair together.

We always have so much fun going out to this pier! If you look closely you can tell which one wanted to jump in (her feet are all wet) and which one kept telling the other to stop splashing her!

Make sure to check out all the bloggers on this tour! They have made some amazing swimsuits!

  1. Love how those swimsuits turned out for your girls...great choices on the fabrics! I agree that lining it always good, for at least part of the swimsuits. Powermesh is definitely your friend. :)

    1. Hey Emily! Yes! Both Peekaboo Pattern Shop and The Fabric Fairy sell powermesh! I haven't tried The Fabric Fairy's yet, but I really like Peekaboo's! <3
