Suit Up For Summer Blog Tour Day 4

It's day 4 of the Suit Up For Summer Blog Tour and I'm back with another ME suit! It is #memademay after all! I'm also sharing a kid's suit too, but since it's so rare that I actually make or blog anything I make for myself, I'm totally showcasing that!

The Sophie Swimsuit by Closet Case Patterns has been on my "to make" list for quite a while now and this was the perfect push to make it! I absolutely adore these pineapples from Peek-a-boo Pattern shop (currently unavailable but more is being ordered!) and I knew this had to be my Pineapple Bikini. I do wish I had had some solid black to colorblock with, but I still really like how it turned out in all pineapple.

This suit has a ton of pieces. I ended up cutting out 18 main pieces, 16 lining, 16 powermesh, and 7 bra foam pieces. I didn't want anything showing that shouldn't be showing, or anything moving that I didn't want moving. I totally think it was worth the work!
Have I mentioned how much I love this print??? Pineapples and stripes, so my favorite thing ever.

Yesterday I said that I was making each of my girls swimsuits to coordinate with mine, so one of my girls was definitely getting a suit out of this print. Aev's was the winner, on account I've already made her two swimsuits that I didn't quite add enough length too and don't fit her....This child needs to stop growing!

I went with our all time favorite, the Cosi Swim Suit. I sewed up view B and had the lines in the middle line up as the opposite from both sides. I love playing around with stripes!

I love doing the adjustable straps, and well, with how fast this kid grows, it's really no wonder!

I come back to this suit because I love the fit on my kids (minus Aevs suit last year because I made that suit for Zoe and Aevs just INSISTED that it fit her. Children.) I also love all of the options I have. One piece, two piece, colorblocked, leg frills, skirted. My girls just love it.
Sew Pony is also having a contest right now, so if you've made any of her patterns, make sure you go over and link them up! The prices look pretty spectacular!
Don't forget to enter our giveaways too! (wink wink)

I'm seriously blown away by everyone participating on this tour. The swimsuits are just incredible and today's participants did not disappoint! Make sure you head over to each and check out their summer garb!
