Once Upon a Pixel Blog Tour

*This post was sponsored by Sugaridoo and Studio Koekoek but all thoughts and opinions are my own!

I love books. I may honestly have a slight book hoarding tendency (NOT a hoarding "problem", you can never have too many books!) So when Irene from Sugaridoo asked if anyone would like to be on this blog tour I jumped at the chance! It has so many fun projects and with my kids being really crafty as well, I knew it would be a book that would get a ton of love!
I'm also giving away one copy of the e-book so make sure you enter the rafflecopter!

There are so many fun and adorable projects in this book! 20 to be exact.

If you couldn't guess, I made Monsieur Frog. Zoe ADORES frogs, so this was a very logical choice. Although that Unicorn and Princess quilt are definitely pulling at me too!
In the book, the frog project is actually a pillow, but I enlarged the squares to 2.75"(7cm) ((I used a 3/8"(1cm) seam allowance)) so after adding the border, it turned into a 42"(107cm) by 36"(91.5cm) quilt instead....
Which, lets be honest, absolutely thrilled Zoe. She LOVES her mini Frog Blanket!

I had always loved pixel quilts, but I really didn't realize how easy they were!
Of course I used my Cricut Maker to cut out all the squares...I can't help it! It makes them so precise and it's much easier to just pop each piece of fabric in to the machine to cut instead of cutting them out myself!
I used Riley Blake shades, Grass, Mountain Green, Christmas Green, and Phantom. Hopefully those are the right names....
Then plain white for the background and border.
The backing and bias is Dear Stella Pura Vida, and although it doesn't have any frogs in it, the colors and vibe just seemed perfect for it!

Best thing is this bug/animal loving girl just loves it and I literally could barely keep it out of her hands before getting good pics. She was DYING to have it to snuggle up with.

You can see more projects and buy the book over at Sugaridoo.
Remember that you will have a chance to win a copy of the e-book each week of the tour, so make sure to stop at all the other posts each week, not only to enter the giveaway, but to see all the other fun projects!
I know you will just love this book!!
