Today I'm tagging along, celebrating the 150th year anniversary of Alice in Wonderland. I've always loved the madness in Alice in Wonderland.
It's magical and crazy, silly and whimsical. I'd ask how you could not like it, but both my mother and husband actually aren't intrigued with this story, so I wont. LOL
I've always wanted to make an Alice in Wonderland dress for Aevs and the Vintage Natalie Dress was the perfect one for this. I used blue Kona Fabric from Joanns for the main part of the dress and Riley Blake black & white stripe that I bought from Phat Quarters for the middle. I added black piping to give it that small pop and I love it.
I changed up the pattern by adding the underskirt, but otherwise didn't change a thing. I made the size 8 based on Aevs measurements and it fits her perfectly. She makes a wonderful little Alice.
Aevs loves her version of the dress and they have been watching both the Disney and Tim Burton's versions of Alice in Wonderland this past week (my husband is not thrilled. LOL)
I'm hoping this dress will still fit her come Halloween. Most of the kids would be on board for this theme.
