Can you believe it's almost July??? July is my favorite month of the year. I may only be slightly biased. Harry Potter and Robin Williams were both born in July, along with myself.
If that weren't enough, we get one of my favorite holidays, Independence Day. So of course I had to join Wild & Wanderful's, Sew Americana Tour, to celebrate the 4th of July!
Being American to me means Freedom. Getting that freedom comes at a price and I am incredibly grateful to all the many men, women, and families enlisted in our armies to give us that Freedom. That includes my brother James, my incredible father, Gene, and many, many friends, along with grandparents and great grandparents. There have been many sacrifices for us to have our freedom and I want to say how grateful I am to all those that fight.
In celebration this year, I made the Jane Romper & Dress from The Simple Life Pattern Company in a blue and white gingham for Paisley.
Good rompers are hard to find and this one is just perfect! I love the simple lines and the details. Button placket, cuffs and front pockets. I chose to have fun with the gingham print and cut the neckband, waistband, pockets, and cuffs diagonally. It gives it a fun detail. I also put in eyelets and used twill tape for the waist band instead of elastic. Any opportunity I get to use twill tape, I do. I just love it!
I hope everyone has a fantastic 4th of July, spending time with their families, having BBQ's watching the fireworks and taking a moment of gratitude to our troops.
