Suit Up For Summer Blog Tour Day 3

I can't believe it's already day 3 on this tour!
Today I'm sharing my swimsuit from the Maritime Swim line by Raspberry Creek! This is not the only ME suit I've made for this tour, so although it's WAY out of my comfort zone, you totally get to see some me sewing!

I'm going to be honest, I am petrified of swimming. Not because of the swimming itself. I actually quite enjoy swimming, but swimming with kids??? It feels more like a death trap then a fun family day! For this reason, I haven't really owned a bathing suit for years. But now that my kids are older and more confident swimmers, I need an arsenal of adorable swimsuits in my wardrobe!

Judy was kind enough to give us a coupon code for our readers!

The top threw me for a bit of a loop on how to cut the front at first. I didn't quite understand all the lines and well, I was having the whole "mom brain" moment. It finally clicked how the lines corresponded to my bust size and I was on my way!
I made a medium and cut on the line 3 for the front. I used powermesh and lining along with sewing in bra cups as well.
I used Raspberry Creek's Sea Floor for the Siren top and then Nautical Stripes for the bottoms. Because I wanted to conserve all my Sea Floor, I cut the front out of solid white from The Fabric Fairy (which you can't see because I didn't get a pic).

The bottoms took absolutely no time at all to sew up. I just went for the basic ones. I did also use lining and powermesh with them too. That powermesh for sure holds everything firmly in place!

My girls are each getting a "mommy & me" matching swimsuit that is just made in coordinating fabric. I think that's one of the funnest things about making your own swimwear!
You can find Zoe's and Paisley's suits on Day's 1 & 2 of the tour.

The bloggers today have some more really amazing swimsuits to show off too! Make sure you click on the pics and read all about theirs!
