Urban Classic Doll

We're getting all ready for Christmas over here, and our Christmas' always involve a doll (or four). Celina of Petit a Petit & Family came out with the Urban Jungle Doll last year, and with moving, I just wasn't able to make it. This year, she just came out with the Urban Classic Doll and I couldn't miss out on making it!

This doll is such a great size! I didn't quite realize how big she would be, but my kids just love it! This one is Aevaries, and my 3 youngest kids have all requested them.
I didn't stick with the face in the pattern. I don't have any fabric paints or an embroidery machine, and I just didn't have the time to hand embroider a face on, so I put my Cricut Maker to good use and designed a face and cut it out of iron-on vinyl.
Now, I did follow all the directions on making the doll, although I'm notorious for not following directions when I don't have to. BUT, when it came to the clothes....I may have gone my own way there. I used knit fabric from TKB Fabrics for the shirt and Art Gallery chambray for the skirt and shoes. Since the shoes call for non-fraying fabric, I interfaced every piece and then went around all the edges with a zig zag stitch.

Talking about discounts, use the code: HAPPINESS for 20% off in Petit a Petit's whole shop until Christmas Day!
I have all of her patterns and have made them quite often! Her Friday Dress & Loveralls are particular favorites here!

I made a chambray Sailor Bow by Sweet Red Poppy for her hair. It's the perfect accessory for this fun outfit!

So now that you've read all about my doll, head over to Instagram for my giveaway! I'm giving away one Urban Classic Doll pattern. All you have to do is like my post and Follow Celina over at @petitapetitblog! You can tag friends for extra entries too!

Happy Crafting!!
