I can't tell you how nervous and excited I am!
I finally get to show you one of my looks!
Originally I was going to do a boy look for this week, but this idea of a snowflake dress would not leave my mind, and in the end I couldn't help it.
I had a couple of different ideas on how to make this dress, so it took me a few sketches to figure out which one I wanted to go with.
I'm a very visual person, so sketching is always a must!

I finally decided on a white lace overlay with an ivory satin under-dress and it turned out perfect.
It reminds me of the soft new snowfall on top of the old and hard snow.
The back has an invisible zipper connecting the overlay and under-dress. It also has tulle to add a little princess 'poof'.

I can honestly say that drafting the Juniper Trench Coat was one of the hardest things I've done, but I am so incredibly pleased with the outcome!
It has princess seams, pockets, waist tie, back tabs, and a small bustle. There are also 11 buttons. I know that doesn't sound like too many, but it took me 2 weeks just to be able to get a hold of them all!
I used water resistant fabric for the outside and soft, warm minky fabric for the lining.
Lastly, we have the accessories.
Belt, Bow, Purse, and Hat
I made them out of faux leather, felt and left over lace.
A girls gotta have her accessories!

I didn't want to leave out pictures of just the clothing, although I'm very partial to that silly, crazy kiddo that's been modeling them!
One of my biggest things I wanted to accomplish is making items that will be worn a lot.
I know the dress is going to be worn all year round and as soon as Zoe grows out of it, Paisley will grow in! As much as I would like to say that it will only be worn on special occasions, I'm sure Zoe is going to find a way to get some bug searching done while wearing it. She is such a tomboy in a disguise!
Now the trench coat is not really a stand alone item....you will still want to add some items of clothing underneath. You don't want a little flasher running around!
It's the perfect little coat though. The minky makes it very warm, so Zoe has been wearing it everywhere and groaned whenever I told her not to get it dirty before our picture shoot!
I've been really excited to show off this look and hope you love it too!
Thank you so much for coming over!
You can head back over and vote for your favorite look!
I would love to show you what I have up my sleeve for next week!
