It's "Design your own fabric" week and I have been so excited for this week!
I had tons of things I wanted to try out:
Embroidery
Eventually, I ended up going with reverse applique cause I'm on an applique kick (note Hanson shirt last week).
I decided to go with a "stained glass window" look and drafted a design I liked then went to town sewing around all my shapes. Then I got to be a little scissor happy and cut all those suckers out!
The kids have been calling it the "Rapunzel dress".
You've got me.....

I used Modkid's "Lexi Dress" pattern to make the actual dress. It's an adorable and super comfy play dress and Aevarie loves the cut out in the back. She insisted she sew the button on herself too.
I deviated from the pattern a bit and just sewed on the gathered skirt rather than making a band. I'm a rebel, what can I say?
Aevarie may have begged to wear it to bed as well......so, yeah, that means she loves it.

Cool, Karly! I'm always a little afraid to cut with reverse applique...especially with knit! Very brave :)
