Hard At Work

Let me start off by saying that tooth pain is horrid.

This last week I have been suffering from massive tooth ache. One that is infected and will need a root canal.
Earliest appointment? Monday.
I'm not really into taking meds and avoid them whenever possible, but I have been taking these things religiously this last week.

I have a lot of stuff coming up the end of April and beginning of May. For the next few weeks I will be working on my patterns. I am ecstatic about them! When I'm ready I'll be posting a tester call and if I have anything fun or silly to write about before then, I'll do it. Otherwise, I will be pretty quiet for a bit.
Here's what you can look forward too. The Anise Blazer and the All Spice Dress with either zip up front option or button placket option.

I'm so excited!!!!

Giveaway!!!

Today I'm part of another Giveaway!
What Giveaway you ask?
Feather's Flights WEEK long one!

I'm not the only one in it, so you will want to head over and get all the deets.

BUT while you're here, I thought I could say a little about Heather.
I don't know her too well personally. I got to meet her at a dinner at the Sewing Summit last September for about 5 minutes. She was pregnant with her adorable little girl, but you really couldn't tell. She is seriously one of the most adorable pregnant women you will ever see. But that meeting was cut short on account of a Hanson concert to run off too......mmm Hanson....
Super sad to say that I literally did blow her off for Hanson. Not that it was a bad concert. They are amazing performers and the fans are absolutely hilarious to watch.
I'm getting off track here now......

I know Heather is incredibly sweet and she has tons of tutorials and sewing tips on her blog. So, in case you haven't had a chance to go through all of her stuff, go now!

Well... AFTER you enter the giveaway for my Saffron Twirl dress Pattern that is!!!

Thank you Heather for putting this all together!

Essential Sewing Reference Tool Review & Giveaway

Today I get to talk about the amazing Carla. The brains behind Scientific Seamstress.
Carla is one of the coolest, most genuine and talented people I know. So when I was asked to sign up for HER book tour?? There wasn't a second of hesitation. Okay, maybe a second of picking my jaw off the floor and composing myself again, but as soon as that was taken care of, I scrambled fast to type in my info.
Is it obvious I'm a little star struck?

Ahem...The book is called,
Essential Sewing Reference Tool: An All in One Visual Guide

As soon as I received it, I read it cover to cover. Well, more ebook page to ebook page.

It holds a massive wealth of information from types of fabrics, to sewing hem techniques to buttonholes (which my awesome friend Crystal blogged about and still has a giveaway for one of YOU to win on her blog, so go enter) really almost everything that deals with sewing. Incredibly useful to beginner sewers, but also very useful to tried and true ones too. I certainly learned a few things.

Titchy Threads Small Fry Skinny Jeans

Today I'm kicking off the Small Fry Skinny Jeans tour!
I had made Laura's free size 2 pattern and they turned out darling, so I was so stoked when the tester call came up for more sizing!
I tested the size 12 that you can see in my PR&P look. Gavin has been begging me to make him a pair of shorts, so this was the perfect excuse to make them during the winter....with the snow....and freezing rain.
The weather wasn't too bad while we took pictures, and Gavin insisted that he wasn't cold, but I was still freezing. Boys are so tough.
