Make Laundry Don't Do Laundry Pre-Tour

Hello! Today we're back with more inspiration for our Make Laundry Don't Do Laundry Tour
The theme for today is "Tops" and I'm showcasing our sponsor Amy from Momma Quail Patterns

Make Laundry, Don't Do Laundry is a blog tour where we urge you to make clothes instead of wash them. Making them is far more exciting and well, that pile isn't going anywhere. We'll have a link up, so you can sew along and there are some awesome prize packages. This week CassyJeanine, and I have been highlighting each of the designers to show off some fun outfits you can make instead of braving that laundry room. The tour officially kicks off on the 6th with a pretty incredible line-up of bloggers, so come link up and enjoy a week of making laundry!

I went with her Zanzibar Shores Tank Top. Tank tops are just a must for summer and I love the design elements of the colorblocked side seams and the hood in this pattern.

I used my neon green/grey stripe I've been hoarding since last year and paired it with some Art Gallery Grey solid. Because of the fancy seam hiding in the hood, it took me a little longer to make, but from print to finish, I was done in 45 minutes. If I had gotten my double needle out, it would have taken a little longer, but I figured I could give this shirt a bit of a different finishing flair than the others and finished the seams with a zig-zag stitch.

For me, I typically use the 85 minute wash cycle (this includes a double rinse and 15 minute soak), so I had plenty of time to whip this up!
I've also made Momma Quails Jackalope Tee that features the same side seams and is a quick sew too!

Make sure to check out Jeanine and Cassy's blog posts and get geared up for when Make Laundry Don't Do Laundry starts on the 6th!

There are some fun prize packages to be won and a link-up too. Not to mention all the great inspiration for fast sews during those times you just don't want to do laundry!
