Riley Blake Designs - Go to the Sea with Harry & Alice

The sea is one of my favorite places to go! I love the salty air and the sounds of the waves. All of our family vacations have been to the beach. There's just something so wonderful about it and calming. When I saw this line at Riley Blake Designs, I couldn't resist making a couple of dresses from it!

Last summer I took a mini vacation to Santa Monica with my 3 youngest and my mum. For these two, it was their second time ever seeing the ocean, and it was Jude's first time. They absolutely loved the trip and I hope it's one that they will always remember and cherish.

Every family vacation we've ever taken has always been to the beach. We may break that next year for a music festival, but it's definitely one of our favorite places to go!

First, lets talk about this Floral Blue. I can just imagine the rose bushes lining a white picket fence on the beach. I chose to make the Tinsley Dress by Violette Field Threads out of it. It's the perfect match for this print!

I love the little knot pockets and the button down front. I chose to make it with sleeves since school is starting this week! Although I also think it's perfect for the spring and summer too!

For Zoe's dress I drafted my own pattern and used Rope in Navy. Stripes are one of my favorite prints ever and I love playing around with them! The rope stripes are such a fun print!

I saw this dress off pinterest and I loved it, so I decided to make my own twist of it. I really love how the dress turned out!

This pretty much signals the end of our summer. It was filled to the brim with plays, swimming days at the pool and lake, days at the parks and some hiking in there too!
We also have gotten an amazing harvest of fruit and got to make a bunch of apricot jam and now our peaches are all ripe!
My girls couldn't resist sneaking some peaches during the photoshoot! LOL

What's your favorite place to go on vacation?
