Riley Blake Designs - My Heritage

Today I'm sharing some plaids from Riley Blake Designs new line, My Heritage by My Minds Eye.

I'm a sucker for plaids and grid fabrics and this line had a few color ways of each.
For the top, I used Plaid Charcoal. I love the size of this plaid and the colors are a gorgeous grey
I hacked Little Lizard King's Lorne Top & Dress for the top. I lengthened the bodice, giving the front a hi-lo front. Then I made the back one piece, rather than two. I also added arm bands and a neck facing.

The skirt is based off one of my absolute favorite skirt patterns in the book, Linen, Wool, Cotton Kids by Akiko Mano. None of my girls fit into the sizing in the book anymore (it goes to a size 7) so I've had to draft some bigger sizes for them.
I made the skirt in Grid Dark Teal.

I love plaid on plaids. Maybe it's something to do with my Scottish heritage?

Zoe has been really liking her hair short and it really does have a mind of it's own, so I don't really blame her for that.

I love the dark colors of these prints. They'll go well as separates, but we both quite like them together too! What's your favorite print in My Heritage?
