R&P; Week 3: Upcycle - Zip-a-dee-doo-dah

I am so excited to have made it to this week on Project Run and Play!

I was thrilled to find out that we would have an upcycle week.
We're pretty big on upcycling here. Our girls currently get the "hand-me-down" system and Jude get's the "big brother and Daddy's clothes upcycled" system.

PR&P; Week 2: Let's Go To The Movies - Moulin Rouge

First off, I have to say WOW! I am so touched by the amount of people that voted for me and so stoked to be on Project Run and Play, another week. The competition is definitely fierce and I cannot wait to see what everyone makes this week!

It took me a while to figure out what to do with this one.

PR&P; Week 1: Winter Wonderland - Falling Slowly

Today is the day!
I can't tell you how nervous and excited I am!
I finally get to show you one of my looks on Project Run & Play!

Snowflakes and Lace: Running the Race while Lovely in Lace

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

I'm so excited to be a part of this series!! I've been having a lot of fun with lace lately and was thinking about making another lace dress, but this series deserves a look of it's own. So I started looking at pinterest for inspiration.
It was rather overwhelming seeing all the different ideas over there.
You can use it as an overlay, embellishments, appliques, etc.

Project Run & Play Introduction

Hey!
I'm being introduced over at Project Run & Play today! I don't think I need to reiterate how very excited I am to be on this season and I think you all can imagine how nervous I am too! I'm up against some amazing competition. They were all introduced before me, so if you haven't checked them out yet, you should!
And no, I'm not being nice to get votes (although if that works, you know, I'll totally take it!). I am truly excited to be competing against such talented seamstresses and I hope that this season is one of the best ones (if not the best one) yet.

If you have a question you would like to ask me, don't hesitate! I do much better with answering questions then I do with trying to talk about myself.

Oh, and here's a crazy collage of pictures of me. I'm usually always the one behind the camera, but my kids are starting to get there. ;)

I really cannot wait for next week and hope to see you all sewing along!

Let's get this party started!

The Year 2013

It's crazy how much has changed and how much we've all grown this past year. I started up my blog in December 2012 for the sole reason of participating on Project Run and Play. At that point in time I just knew that I loved to sew. I loved creating and I wanted to learn more.

Before starting my blog I was a quilter. I really wanted to learn to sew clothing but I had become very frustrated with the big 4 paper patterns and learning on my own was slow going. Snail pace. I could do simple skirts and knit shirts. I had installed 3 zippers in total and buttons were more embellishments then actually functional.

Then while pregnant and on bed rest with my 5th child, I happened upon Project Run and Play. I was in love. I loved the looks and the tutorials. I was just blown away.

I really don't know how I found Peekaboo Patterns or what led me to pattern test, but Amy from Peekaboo Patterns chose to me test her Alpine Wonderland Puffy Coat (you can still see my baby Jude in the listing) and suddenly this new world opened up to me!
