Happy Halloween everyone! We had a blast last night carving our pumpkins (rather than painting them) and are so ready for Trick-or-treating!

I know it's early to even be thinking about New Years, but next year I really plan to make more for myself and I'm so glad that Hatchling Patterns asked me to participate in their new M is for Moto Joggers pants tour to give me a head start on that goal!

Orbit Pocket Tutorial

So I made myself a Studio Ghibli Hoodie and I got asked how I hacked the pattern to make my pockets. I wing a lot of things, so this will not be completely precise, but it gets the job done and I do have the size 6 (children) pocket and pocket facing pattern at the end of the post. 

Studio Ghibli for Me

In case it's unknown, there are few things I love more than Studio Ghibli. Hoodie's are rather close in line with it. Luckily, my bestie knows me well and when Knitorious Fabrics came out with this amazing Studio Ghibli fabric (you can join the B/S/T group and hopefully get lucky and nab some), she knew she had to get me some for my birthday. 

She's amazing. I love her. #bestiesforever

Mandy K Designs: SNOW WHITE

One of the things I have not completely delved into yet is sewing costumes. I love sewing practical clothing and well, costumes don't exactly fit into that category. But truth be told, I think I have been far more worried about cost of making a costume just to have it be something that doesn't get much wear or that I massively screw up. It's really time I gave up that irrational fear though, so when Mandy K Designs asked for people to be on her blog tour, I really did jump on the chance.

When I was a kid, there were many things I wanted to be. A rock-star, groupie, Architect, Astrologist, and lastly, a Teacher. I love to teach and share what I know. To me it's part of being human and giving back to the world for having to put up with me. ;)
