Riley Blake Designs - National Parks

When I was little we moved a LOT. I've actually moved over 30 times in my life and I'm in my 30's....so if that says anything. One of my favorite things about moving was seeing our country! I have so many fond memories of the Redwoods to Mesa Verde to the ocean. I haven't been able to go on many road trips with my kids, but we do live in the mountains and we love going on hikes and making trips to the lakes by us! I have a great love for our National Parks and love that Riley Blake made a line showcasing them!

Back to School Tour Day 7

What a week! Did your kids wear me-made all week, a mix, or no me-made at all? Mine was definitely a mix! Are you still sewing your kids school clothes or did you get it all finished before school started? If you're still sewing, make sure to check out all the bloggers this week to get a lot of great inspiration for back to school outfits!

Back to School Tour Day 6

How was your first week back to school?? Ours went really smoothly! No one was late, everyone arrived at school fully clothed and hair done and with everything in their backpacks! It was a definite win. That ended after school yesterday when Aevs took a spill on her longboard and we spent the next few hours at the dentist and then at the doctors (send all the good vibes you can that her tooth is okay!), and she will for sure be staying home all next week, but that happened AFTER school, so I'm not counting it in our amazing first week back!
Anything eventful happen your first week back?

Back to School Tour Day 5

Can you believe it's Friday?! My kids are wrapping up their first week of school and they're really loving it! Reading has always been one of the hardest things to get my kids to do and my Paisley has already read 3 chapter books this week! The new year is seeming to bring new changes and I'm so excited for them! Did your kids start school this week?

Michael Miller - Sew Fruity Mini Quilt Tutorial

I just love bright colors and Michael Miller's new line, Sew Fruity, is chalk full of them! They make me happy and I couldn't resist making a pineapple mini quilt wall hanging so I get that little extra happiness whenever I see it in my sewing room wall!

Back to School Blog Tour Day 4

We're on to day 4 of the Back to School tour and I am loving all these looks! Have you started sewing back to school clothes yet? What is your plan? I love making capsules for my kids, but their likes are so broad, that that usually fails! LOL I'll still be trying to make a few pieces for my kids and we'll see how it goes!

Back to School Tour 2019 Day 3

We're already half way through the week! My kids have been loving their teachers and classes so far and I've been able to get a bit of cleaning done and hoping to get to sewing more this week! Our summer was far more jam-packed and crazy than it ever has been before and I didn't get to sew nearly as much as I was hoping to. I've been looking forward to getting back to it!
How was your summer? Did you get to sew as much as you hoped?

Riley Blake Designs - Under the Canopy

I have been so excited about this line! It's Riley Blake Designs Under the Canopy by Citrus & Mint Designs. It has so many adorable animals: cheeta's, sloths, flamingo's, etc. and I LOVE the colors! I couldn't wait to make a quilt from this line!

Back to School Tour 2019

I can't believe summer is already over. Our summer was incredibly jam packed and I'm honestly kind of excited for the school year to start and to get some me time!
One of our favorite parts of back to school is the new school clothes and what better way to start the school year off than with a blog tour!
There is a lot of inspiration on this tour along with a giveaway so make sure to follow along!

Riley Blake Designs - Go to the Sea with Harry & Alice

The sea is one of my favorite places to go! I love the salty air and the sounds of the waves. All of our family vacations have been to the beach. There's just something so wonderful about it and calming. When I saw this line at Riley Blake Designs, I couldn't resist making a couple of dresses from it!

Snowy Owl Customs DC vs Marvel

We're pretty big on comics over here. My kiddo that is highly dyslexic finds them so much easier to read than regular books and they all love the stories! So they've been ecstatic about Snowy Owl Custom Fabrics DC vs Marvel round, which is still open for preorder until tonight (7-11)!

Riley Blake Designs - Sweet Melody

I feel like summer has just begun, I blinked and now it's suddenly more than half over! You know it's a good summer when time is flying so fast! Now with school just around the corner, I'm realizing I need to get a move on with my kids wardrobes.
Paisley has requested all dresses and skirts for school and I thought this dress was the perfect one to start off with!

Riley Blake Designs - Sew Retro

Today I'm sharing a sweet summer dress out of Riley Blake Designs line, Sew Retro by Sara Davies. It's kind of funny because when I was making this dress I kept getting idea's of the dresses my mum wore as a child growing up in England. I kept thinking it was because she grew up in the 60's and 70's which is where my mind goes to when I think "retro", but come to find out, Sara Davies is from England too! I've only been to England twice, but I'm totally set when I do go because of all the family I have out there!

Riley Blake Designs - Joey

Joey by Deena Rutter is seriously the sweetest and most adorable line! If I was ever to have another baby, this line would dictate that babies entire room. Since there will be no more babies for me, I chose to make a twin size quilt. I just love the colors and we're talking about Koalas and Sloths here. It just doesn't get cuter than that!

Michael Miller - Travel Mini Backpack

Today I get to share my mini Travel backpack made in Michael Miller Fabrics new line Travel Daze! As a kid, we moved a LOT. I'm 35 and I've moved 32 times in my life, just to give you an idea. I love seeing new places and meeting new people. While you're travelling, it's always nice to have the perfect bag to take with you!

Riley Blake Designs - Honey Run

The last month of school has been so crazy busy. With last minute school performances, field trips, and play practices, I can honestly say that summer break couldn't come soon enough! And now that it's here we had to make a picnic dress out of Riley Blake Designs Honey Run by Jill Finley!

5/22/19

Riley Blake Designs - Gem Stones

I'm sure anyone with a tween knows how hard it is to find patterns that work with their style. My Aevs has already told me she's way over dresses, but I am so glad these two still love to wear them! Although I myself don't like to wear dresses either (I was always in a tree as a kid!) I absolutely love how feminine and sweet they are! The Gem Stone line by Riley Blake Designs is such a fun line to give a bigger impact to a simple dress!

5/20/19

Riley Blake Designs - Fairy Edith

My girls absolutely love Faeries. Everything about them. So when I saw this line,  Fairy Edith by Riley Blake Designs, I knew it would be a big hit with them. And since it was going to be something they'd all love, I knew it had to become a quilt!

5/15/19

Riley Blake Designs - Nautical

My goal for this year has been to work on my quilting skills and I love that I can use those skills in my kids clothing! I've found that I love Foundation Paper Piecing and have been excited to do more with it. Riley Blake Designs just came out with their Nautical line and I knew an FPP boat would be the perfect block to work on.
